Keep it neutral
Paint all of your home white, it might take some sweat and tears, but it will so be worth it in the end! Potential buyers walking through your home will be able to envision what they want and plan to put their own stamp on it before having to remove yours first. Don’t put your buyer off with scary reds and algae greens.
First Impressions count
Most buyers form their first impressions of a house within seconds of walking through your door. Make sure you’ve spent some time cleaning, tidying up the outside of the house, making a fresh and welcoming environment for that potential buyer! Whilst you want the property to look perfect, remember it isn’t a show home and showing it’s lived in can help people feel more comfortable. Placing some bright seasonal flowers and lots of nice natural light will always make your property seem more welcoming.
Spring Clean
Clean each room from top to bottom! A proper clean will always make your home seem fresh and appealing. Clutter doesn’t sell homes, so get rid of it! Clutter will make your home seem smaller and disorganised, take time to remove as much clutter as possible without leaving your rooms empty.
Kerb Appeal
Whilst it’s important to have the inside of your property looking spot on, make sure your house looks great from the outside too! Spend time planting flowers, trimming bushes, weeding, repainting the front door and if you have a path make sure it’s swept clean & looks tidy! If you’ve got an overgrown front garden, make sure you trim it back and make it presentable for when potential buyers pull up outside. If it looks like it’s poorly maintained, they could enter your property with a negative outlook.
Fix it!
Got a cracked tile or dripping tap? Things like this will send the wrong message to potential buyers. Getting all the problems in your house fixed before putting it on the market is the way to go!
